The winner of the Fear of a Female Planet audience vote was “Sometimes”.

SpiriTwo’s Yael-Claire Shahmoon received a certificate and attended a screening at the Camden Underworld on 10 May during the Ladyfest Party. Congratulations to her!

Changes to the workshop programme

Just to let you know there have been some changes to the workshop schedule since the programme went to print:

SATURDAY:

The Songwriters workshop is cancelled (was Resource Centre 3:45-5:15pm). The Radical Practical Feminist Self-Defence will be running instead at this time in this venue.

SUNDAY:

The Feminist Self-Defence (was Islington Arts Factory 10am-12noon) has now moved to Saturday (see above). The Zen pussy, sound and squeeze is most likely cancelled, but please look out for signs as this may change.

There are signs up at all venues with correct workshop listings.

Don’t forget to bring a few old clothes to Ladyfest on Sunday afternoon. Beth from Pedalkraft, an expert clothing customiser, will be on hand at the Islington Arts Factory on Sunday afternoon. She will show you how to revive your tired wardrobe and put the zoot back into your suit! You could swap something with another ladyfester, or get something new from us for a small donation.

Ladyfest comedy night/launch party Thursday night

Comedy gig at the North London Tavern (map), Thursday night, starting at 7.30pm and featuring Holly Walsh, Helen Keen, Joanna Neary, Helen Arney, Miriam Elia, Christina Martin, Juliet Meyers and with MC Verity Carter. Free entry!

Also a chance to collect your wrist band for the rest of the festival.

Aleessi…An African Actress is showing at 2.30pm on Sunday 11th May at the IAF with Anna from Benin. Screening to be presented by Roz from the Ghanaian film festival and attended by Brenda Parkerson producer of Anna from Benin. After the films there will be a vegetarian East African buffet, stalls and live music.
